The statement

I have finished this bust of the Great Royal Wife not as a monument but as a master for my workshop—a form against which every subsequent image of her majesty can be measured. The limestone core is modeled in stucco and painted to capture the living flesh, though I have left one eye without its iris inlay. This incompleteness marks the piece as a tool: it holds the exact curve of cheek, the precise height of brow, the true line of jaw that my apprentices must learn to reproduce in every medium.

Under the Aten's light we are permitted—commanded, even—to show the royal family as they live and breathe, not as rigid icons. I have tested how far individual character can be pushed within the requirements of majesty, searching for that balance where the face reads as both particular person and eternal queen. The long neck, the level gaze, the crown rising in a single calm vertical: these give the image its authority. What I want the viewer to see is not ornament but presence—a specific woman, here, now, meeting your eyes with untroubled calm. The symmetry itself teaches: this is the form all other likenesses must approximate.
