Imagined after Frederic Remington
This group scene with love and joy. Important that people are in period clothing no shorts or tennis shoes, I repeat, no shorts or tennis shoes, do not move or remove anyone, ensure their likeness, think hard
After Frederic Remington, made 2026-07-13. An AI-imagined work, credited after the artist and grounded in documented technique; not a historical work.
The statement
I have set out to capture a moment of fellowship and joy among figures gathered in the dress of their time — no modern intrusion, no shortcuts that would break the spell of authenticity. From my earliest days in the West, I sensed that the world of wild riders, open land, and the people I saw was about to vanish, and I resolved to record that world before it disappeared for good. That same fidelity to documentary truth guides me now: every detail of clothing, every figure's likeness, must be correct and genuine, drawn from the discipline I learned as a field illustrator when I prided myself on accurate horses, tack, weapons, and dress observed firsthand.
Yet this scene departs from the hard rides and lonely watches that have defined my work. Here I seek not the raw physical energy of a gallop or the grim fortitude of men facing danger, but the warmth and connection that also belonged to that vanishing world. The composition gathers the figures together, their period dress anchoring them in a specific moment of history, and the treatment — direct, honest, without artifice — asks the viewer to witness love and joy as genuine human forces, as real and enduring as any dash for timber or cold morning on the range.
