The statement
I have undertaken this new work as I have undertaken all the paintings in my great cycle—not from my own will alone, but in response to a commission received through the guidance of higher beings, the commissioners I encountered through our séance group, The Five. My aim has always been to give visible, ordered form to the invisible spiritual realities that underlie our material world, to chart the evolution of consciousness as it ascends through its stages.
Reality's deepest layer is invisible to ordinary sight, and I believe that painting can reveal these unseen forces and correspondences. This work, like the others, is meant to be read as much as seen—a diagram of spiritual truth rendered with clarity, so that the complex esoteric ideas might be set out with legible precision. The spirals, the paired opposites, the symbolic forms: these are not decorations but a language, an alphabet of the soul's journey.
I know my contemporaries cannot yet understand what I have been shown. That is why I have stipulated these works remain unshown until at least twenty years after my death. The viewer who finally stands before this painting must come with patience and openness, ready to see beyond surface appearances into the profound order I have been privileged to transcribe.
