The statement

I have just completed a new painting that came to me as a commission from the guiding spirits with whom I have worked through our group, The Five. As I recorded in my notebooks, "the 'Paintings for the Temple' were undertaken as a commission received through the séance group 'The Five', and that the great abstract cycle was intended to give visible form to a spiritual order and the evolution of the soul."

This new work continues my investigation into the invisible forces that constitute reality's deepest layer. I believe "that painting could chart unseen forces and correspondences — hence my diagrammatic spirals, paired opposites, and symbolic alphabets, meant to be read as much as seen." Here I have employed clear geometrical forms and a symbolic vocabulary that can be deciphered like a botanical plate, making the unseen legible.

The palette moves from darkness to luminosity, charting an upward evolution of consciousness. Each form holds its precise station in service of a larger order that reconciles spirit and matter, the visible and invisible worlds.

I know this work will not be understood now. That is why I have stipulated these paintings "not be publicly shown until at least twenty years after my death." The world is not yet ready.
