The statement
# Artist's Statement
I have been shown a new commission through my guides: a lady at rest beside water, bathed in light. This work belongs to the order I have been given to make visible — not the surface appearance of leisure, but the invisible currents of vitality and evolution that flow through such a moment of peace.
"The 'Paintings for the Temple' were undertaken as a commission received through the séance group 'The Five', and that the great abstract cycle was intended to give visible form to a spiritual order and the evolution of the soul." Here, too, I chart what cannot be seen: the golden rays as spiritual nourishment, the water as a threshold between matter and spirit, the resting figure as a soul in receptive stillness.
The composition is ordered with exactness — concentric ripples, radiant bands of light, the body positioned at the meeting point of forces. I believe "that reality's deepest layer is invisible, and that painting could chart unseen forces and correspondences." The viewer should feel the sun not as heat alone, but as illumination from above; the pool not as mere recreation, but as the still lake of consciousness receiving light.
