The statement

I have concluded that a painter should not merely imitate the masters who came before, but must turn instead to nature itself as teacher—and deeper still, to learn from one's own heart. In this new scroll I have followed that conviction, setting my gaze upon the mountain and letting its granite mass speak through the brush.

The design divides into three planes: foreground boulders rendered crisply at eye level, a band of mist that opens distance, and behind it the great peak suspended like a wall. I have built the stone with dense, dark raindrop strokes—each mark a patient observation of how granite truly sits in the world—so that the mountain carries its own geological weight, its own moral grandeur.

Against this immensity I have placed small travelers and their mules. They are almost nothing beneath the towering face, yet that is precisely the truth I wish the viewer to contemplate. We are minute before nature's overwhelming scale, and in recognizing our smallness we may discover the profound calm that comes from accepting our place within the cosmic order.
