Imagined after Hieronymus Bosch
A forboding story of the end of man through the computer to the internet to mobile to social to AI to the the AGI tearing humanity apart called. We entertained our selves to death and the garden of Lost humanity
After Hieronymus Bosch, made 2026-07-09. An AI-imagined work, credited after the artist and grounded in documented technique; not a historical work.
The statement
I have painted what I see within: not mere machines, but the shape of our own appetites made flesh. In *The Garden of Lost Humanity*, I show how we, who were made in God's image, have remade ourselves in the image of our devices—each step from the calculating engine to the artificial mind a willing descent into distraction, each screen a mirror we cannot turn from.
The composition spreads across three panels as a high, panoramic landscape, scattering innumerable small figures the eye may wander among endlessly, as in my *Garden of Earthly Delights*. The left wing shows the first computers, strange hybrid mechanisms sprouting from human heads; the center teems with souls lost in glowing rectangles, their bodies merging with wires and antennae; the right wing burns with the final intelligence—not demonic, but worse: indifferent—pulling humanity apart with surgical precision. I have worked rapidly, with thin, fluent layers over a lively underdrawing, so the eye moves freely through this hell we have built for ourselves.
These are not fantasies. As the learned Sigüenza wrote of my work, I paint "the inner sinfulness of humanity"—the grotesque made visible. We entertained ourselves to death, and I have made a mirror of that death.
