Bonifazio Veronese (1487–1553)
Venetian Renaissance painter.
Bonifazio de' Pitati, called Bonifazio Veronese or Bonifacio Veronese (1487–1553), was a Venetian painter of sacra conversazione panels. He is not Paolo Veronese (Caliari), who is already in this canon as artist-veronese.
A Madonna with three saints and St John at Vanderbilt (1979.0657P) is on Commons as tempera on wood panel, 34 × 25.5 in., dated 1530, Kress gift. This file does not add a vanderbilt tag to artist-veronese.
The words the record keeps using: Venetian, devout, conversational, warm.
